According to a study conducted by doxo.com and featured on CNBC, the average Andalusia household spends $1,707 on monthly bills, which is 20 percent below the national average. The average monthly bills cost ranks Andalusia 55th among Alabama’s 67 counties. The study also shows that household bills account for 39 percent of local residents’ annual income. The highest local bill is for mortgage or rent. Mortgage payments average $841 while rent is $683. Auto loans is the next highest bill at $515 per month. The average utility payment is $403.
