Monthly bills in Janesville, Beloit total less than national average, study finds

A new report finds Janesville and Beloit residents pay below the national average in monthly household bills.
According to data from bill-pay app company doxo, Janesvilleans paid $1,787 a month in 10 service categories in 2024.
Beloiters paid a little more at $1,888 a month. The national average was $2,126 a month.
The average mortgage in Beloit was about $250 cheaper than in Janesville while rent bills were about the same at just under $1,000 a month in both cities.
doxo says residents in both cities paid more than the 362-dollar national average in utilities — $431 a month in Janesville and $417 in Beloit.
The data also shows Beloit residents paid almost twice as much for cellphone and cable and internet service.
The combined totals in those categories were $356 a month in Beloit compared to $183 a month in Janesville.
